The Stamp as Social Commentary
This project challenged students to transform a block of rubber into a potent tool for design and dialogue. Using detailed rubber-engraving techniques, each student created a functional stamp that goes beyond mere decoration.
The core objective was to:
Design a cohesive visual statement integrating custom typography and striking imagery.
Critically address a pressing socio-cultural issue, using the stamp's imprint to offer an alternative perspective or a subtle critique.
The resulting works are powerful examples of how a small, repeatable format can be used to deliver a significant message, blending fine craftsmanship with deep conceptual engagement.
